Research
Yazachew is conducting sorghum grain biofortification research on the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project "Green Evolution: Accelerating Dryland Cereals Improvement for Africa". Before starting his PhD, Yazachew was a Crop Genetics and Breeding Researcher at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR).
Career Goal
My goal is to deepen my understanding and expertise in staple crop improvement to enhance food and nutrition security. Through rigorous research, I aim to leverage cutting-edge tools from crop genetics/genomics and CRISPR technology to improve the resilience, yield and nutritional value of staple crops.
